(Only answered when Box Office is open)
Each workshop is run by professional actors, drama tutors and theatre practitioners, who cover all aspects of the performing arts. Past summer workshops have included acting/improvisation, characterisation, script-writing, music/singing, dance, voice projection, choral speaking, puppetry, stage combat, stage make-up demonstrations and application and mask making. One year a DVD was made of members' final improvisations.
There is always a performance of the week 's work, to an invited audience.
Through our summer workshops, we hope to enable young people from different backgrounds and starting abilities to work co-operatively together as part of a team and to develop wide social skills. We also endeavour to help them individually to develop skills, gain confidence and self-esteem. Most of all, we want them to gain an experience of the performing arts and a love of theatre.
